Eurofins Textile Testing Spain expands its Accreditation Certificate

 

Eurofins Textile Testing Spain has been expanded their Accreditation Certificate Nº LE/2439 granted by the Spanish accreditation body ENAC, including new textile, leather, footwear and toys tests.

 

This expansion recognises its technical competence, for testing according with the requirements of the standard ISO/IEC 17025:2017.

 

New accredited testing for several product ranges

 

The accreditation scope includes both chemical and mechanical tests for textile, leather, footwear and toys testing.

 

Chemical tests:

 

  • Textile: Detection of disperse dyestuffs according to DIN 54231 and determination of the phthalate content according to ISO 14389. Azo dyes are supplemented with 2-4 Xilidine and 2-6 xilidine, which are required by the Chinese regulations
  • Leather: Determination of formaldehyde content by colorimetric and HPLC analysis according to ISO 17226-1 and ISO 17226-2. As well as azo dyes according to ISO 17234-1 and ISO 17234-2
  • Footwear: Determination of phthalate content according to the standard ISO/TS 16181

 

Physical / Mechanical tests:

 

  • Textile: Determination of quantitative fibre content according to several methods ISO 1833
  • Leather: Colour fastness to water, sweat and rubbing; determination of adhesion of finish and determination of single and double tear load
  • Footwear: Abrasion resistance and flex resistance for outsoles; tear strength and abrasion resistance for uppers linings and insocks; and upper-sole adhesion for whole shoe
  • Metallic accessories: Corrosion test for neutral salt spray according to ISO 9227
  • Toys: Flammability testing according to EN 71-2 and BRC Flammability Testing of Children’s Dress-up for UK requirements. Tension test, torque test, sharp points, sharp edges and small parts testing requirements for EN 71-1. Also the Spanish national standard requirements for children’s garments UNE 40902 and footwear UNE 59300

Since opening 18 months ago, the Spanish textile and footwear laboratory competence centre has doubled its number of accredited tests.
