The European Commission has proposed a new Regulation on the safety of toys, repealing Directive 2009/48/EC. This was partly to ensure a higher level of protection for children from the possible risks some toys pose, for example, from exposure to hazardous chemicals.

Anna Nebot Querol

Regulatory Services Director, Eurofins SL-TH Regulatory Services

Anna graduated in Chemistry, from the University of Barcelona in 2002 before completing a master’s degree in Business Management and Environmental Quality.

With more than 20 years of experience in the TIC industry and in the fields of testing and expert services for consumer products, Anna developed and launched an international regulatory department at Eurofins Consumer Product Testing in 2016. As Regulatory Services Director, she is now focused on Softlines, Leather, Toys & Hardlines regulatory-related topics.

Hélène Busselier

Laboratory Manager & Toys Technical Expert, Eurofins ATS

Hélène joined Eurofins in 2018, bringing with her a robust background in the paper industry and extensive experience in developing private label products for retail. Since 2022, she has been leading our toy physical laboratory in France.

Leveraging her strong connections within the French Afnor committees and the EU Notified Body, she engages effectively with key industry stakeholders and remain informed about the latest toy safety developments in the sector.

Matthew Thorpe

Global Business Development Manager, Eurofins | BLC

Matthew has been with Eurofins for 8 years and has worked in product safety for over 30 years across the toy industry. From his initial days as a test technician in the laboratory to QA Manager for a toy manufacturer and most recently helping customers with their compliance needs, he has broad experience in developing global testing programmes and supporting customer’s technical requirements.

Dr Pratik Ichhaporia

Vice President - Technical Services, Consumer Product Testing North America, Eurofins | MTS

Pratik has over 15 years of experience in the TIC (Testing, Inspection and Certification) industry and is an active member of ASTM Committee D13 on Textiles and F15 on Consumer Products. In his position, he provides counsel to clients for creating efficient product safety & compliance programs based on industry best practices along with evolving the legislative & regulatory landscape.
