No, the pet product mark just represents that the product passed some critical test line we suggested. This includes chemical, strength and construction, performance, safety, etc. The testing plans does not cover every regulatory test. The applicant can raise separate test request for the regulatory requirement per country of destination.
No, actual test should be conducted on the sample submitted in lab.
For every change on the product, applicant should submit the sample to lab for review again. Additional tests might be required depended whether the change will affect on the test result.
No specific industrial standard for pet products. The pet products can follow the same regulatory requirement as human-use products. For example, pet products with electronic device shall comply with FCC in US; EMC and RoHS in EU.
ASTM committee is drafting standards for Pet Toys and Harness attached with car seat, but this may take a few months to complete.
This is depended on the client’s preference. Technically, pet toys are not intended for children’s play and this is not under the scope of ASTM F963 or EN 71. However, some pet toys look like toys for children and having play value, also, kids may play with pet toys together with their pets. For Pet Product Mark for pet toys, we apply heavy metal, phthalate, flammability and physical and mechanical safety test.
These are based on experience of previous testing programs conducted for different retailers or brands. The test methods include industrial and in house method, which is intended to evaluate the safety and quality performance on the product under normal and potential abuse use condition.
There is no direct conversion factor, as the life-time can be affected by various factors. Lab can custom made the durability test method separately.
