STEM for Her (USA)
STEM for Her champions programmes and initiatives that foster enthusiasm amongst girls and young women, and empower them, to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
It aims to challenge girls to explore innovation and creativity within STEM fields, to prepare them for college and/ or careers by developing professionalism and critical thinking skills. Its objectives are to teach girls about teamwork and problem solving and how to apply STEM to help an industry with a problem, ultimately bettering our society and moving it into the future
In 2020, Eurofins Foundation supported STEM for Her as it developed virtual programmes in the era of COVID-19, ensuring that staying home to stay safe does not mean limiting learning and growing. It resulted in expanded outreach across the U.S.A. The virtual nature of the events allowed the organisation to expand their reach across the US, and to help even more girls by offering support and generating excitement for the pursuit of education and careers in STEM.
STEM for Her met helped over 250 girls to explore innovation and creativity within STEM fields; prepare for college and/or careers by developing professionalism and critical thinking skills; learn about teamwork, problem solving, and leadership; and discover STEM’s practical applications when it comes to solving industry problems, bettering society, and moving towards a brighter future.
