The Fruits of Hope and Development Initiative
The Fruits of Hope and Development Initiative is a Kenyan NGO that aims to help disadvantaged groups in local communities.
In 2021/2022, the Eurofins Foundation supported the project ‘Promotion of green growth initiatives to stem adverse effects of climate change and establishing a resource Centre for environment conservation and promotion of health and development.”
The project was carried out in the Kisii County region and support from the Eurofins Foundation has allowed for training for youths and women on green growth initiatives to combat climate change.
It has also helped to establish an environmental resource centre and assist 20 selected youth and women groups to initiate market/kitchen gardens and establish tree nurseries as sources of income.
The project also had an impact on local authorities, as local leaders are using this initiative as a model to encourage local people to contribute to environmental conservation whilst enhancing the gender inclusion and fostering respect for minority rights.
