Equalize Health (South East Asia, South Asia, and Africa)
Equalize Health aspires to create in a world where all people have access to world-class medical treatment, no matter where they live. Millions of people suffer and die from preventable or treatable conditions. Equalize Health is a not-for-profit medical technology company on a mission to change that.
They do this by identifying the most significant gaps and healthcare opportunities where technology can be of the most benefit. Then, they design affordable, world-class medical products that work in the toughest circumstances. Finally, they develop global partnerships to ensure their products get to those who need them most.
In 2021, the Eurofins Foundation supported the project ‘Smart IV fluid delivery: Preventing early childhood deaths through safe IV delivery of fluids and nutrition.'
The project aimed to develop an affordable, user-centred Smart IV Fluid Delivery system offering accurate flow rate control, expanding the usable range of flow rates, and providing rate monitoring and real-time alerts to medical staff.
The overall objective of this project was to advance R&D of a medical technology with significant potential for impact in high-need settings. This was ultimately accomplished through the accelerated evaluation and development of the MaternaWell Drape project. Support from the Eurofins Foundation enabled Equalize Health to identify which opportunities had the highest impact potential and then act on those opportunities.
