EAT - Children Eating Well (CHEW)
EAT is a non-profit organisation aimed at catalysing a food system transformation.
Today’s global food system is failing both people and the planet. While over 800 million people – more than one in 10 worldwide – suffer from under nutrition, one third of all food produced goes to waste.
EAT brings global leaders from science, politics and business together to share knowledge, and discuss challenges and opportunities related to food, health and sustainability.
Eurofins Foundation is supporting the project Children Eating Well (CHEW), an emerging collaboration between EAT and UNICEF, focusing on the links between food systems and child health and nutrition, specifically the food environments that children interact with, particularly in the urban context, to then help prioritise and evaluate interventions. The research also aims to better understand current consumption patterns compared to dietary guidelines at different life stages and initiate a return on investment analysis, including health and environmental benefits.
