Eurofins Electric & Electronics Finland is a designated body for railway systems
Your industry, our focus
Eurofins Electric & Electronics Finland has been granted the rights of a designated body (DeBo) for all railway subsystems. So you now get all the services of the railway system inspection and assessment bodies from Eurofins Electric & Electronics Finland.
Traficom has designated Eurofins Electric & Electronics Finland Oy as a designated body according of the Rail Traffic Act for the areas of competence described below:
- Railway Rolling Stock Subsystem
- The control-command and signaling subsystem of the rail system
- Infrastructure subsystem of the rail system
- Energy subsystem of the rail system
- Accessibility in the railway system
The designation was possible because we at Eurofins Electric & Electronics Finland is also a notified body for railway systems. With DeBo rights, we also provide to our customer’s assessment of compliance against national requirements and we can issue inspection certificates to apply authorization for placing on the market or vehicle type authorization.
Eurofins provide all Inspection and assessment body services for the Railway Systems
In the future, all railway inspection services can be found at one address and that is just a good thing for the customer:
- Although NoBo and DeBo inspections and ISA assessments are produced as separate entities, getting them all under one roof offers clear synergies for our customers: When the contacts for different approvals are the same, it takes less time and effort to transfer data and communicate, for example, says Eurofins Mika Riihimaa, Manager, Electric & Electronics Finland.
The notified body shall operate on the basis of the same verified assessment procedures and qualifications as the notified body. The functions of the Notified Body of Eurofins Electric & Electronics Finland and the ISA assessment body are accredited by the national accreditation body FINAS, in addition to which FINAS regularly assesses the compliance of their operations with the requirements.
Eurofins Electric & Electronics Finland's assessment and inspection body operations are based on the requirements of laws, regulations and standards governing inspection and certification activities:
- We ensure the high-quality operation in accordance with the set requirements with the operating instructions of the inspection and certification bodies at our disposal. By following the code of practice and comprehensively documenting our work, we ensure that we are always able to operate systematically, reliably and reproducibly. All inspections and assessments carried out must be verifiable and reproducible afterwards if needed. We have the right people and know-how for this, Riihimaa says.
