Safe Feed/ Safe Food Certification
The Safe Feed Safe Food (SF/SF) Certification Program ensures the production of safe and high-quality animal feed. Developed by The American Feed Industry Association in 2004 and administered now by Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI), the voluntary programme aims to promote adherence to rigorous standards, enhance industry credibility, and safeguard animal health and food safety. Eurofins can deliver FSC34 and FSC 36 Certifications to drive safety and quality for important feed and agriculture industry.
SF/SF Programme
Feed facilities can leverage three Safe Feed Safe Food Certification Programmes:
- Food Sector Category (FSC) 32: FSC 32 is for pet food and pet food ingredients. It is GFSI-benchmarked
- Food Sector Category (FSC) 34: FSC 34 is also a GFSI-benchmarked programme and it is designed for manufacture of animal feeds to ensure effective compliance with international standard that is recognised by Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
- Food Sector Category (FSC) 36: known as the standard programme, FSC 36 focuses on compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act’s animal food rule and beyond regulatory requirements.
