GLOBALG.A.P. Certification

For a safe & sustainable agriculture and aquaculture

Agriculture and aquaculture producers, from independent farmers to larger groups, need to comply to recognised standards in order to increase consumer and customer confidence in their product safety. GLOBALG.A.P. is a certification programme composed of a set of voluntary standards which allow food producers to demonstrate safe and sustainable production and access to global markets.

Eurofins Assurance is GLOBALG.A.P. approved Certification Body. You can contact us for a quotation or more information.

What is GLOBALG.A.P.?

GLOBALG.A.P. has been developed in order to fulfill the key objective of a safe and sustainable agriculture worldwide and is recognised globally and by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

IFA V6 is the latest revision of GLOBALG.A.P.’s flagship standard, IFA. It takes a holistic approach to farm assurance through following topics on Responsible Farming Practices:

  • Food safety
  • Legal, Management & Traceability
  • Production process
  • Environmental sustainability
  • Animal health and Welfare
  • Worker’s well being

The certification programme supports farmers to connect with retailers worldwide and sell their safe products.

Primary Solutions and Core Solutions

The GLOBALG.A.P. provides certification through their Primary Solutions and Core Solutions, with several Add-ons available for added assessments.

Primary Solutions: The primary solutions provided by the GLOBALG.A.P. certification system offer a basic level of assurance, acting as stand-alone standards that do not include additional GLOBALG.A.P. standards or add-ons. They can fulfill local requirements for producers in emerging markets and help facilitate the first steps towards accredited certification if desired.

Core Solutions: GLOBALG.A.P. Core Solutions a globally recognized certification standards such as the Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) series, Feed Manufacturing, Produce Handling Assurance and Harmonized Produce Safety Standard. These standards are requested and accepted by major buyers in the supply chain.

GLOBALG.A.P. SPRING Module

To provide more comprehensive certification to its members, GLOBALG.A.P. has developed Sustainable Program for Irrigation and Groundwater Use (SPRING) Module that addresses specifically water management at farm in responsible manner.

SPRING Module promotes responsible water stewardship in agriculture. It covers water use, legal compliance, and watershed management, addressing water risks, legal requirements, water resource management, and environmental protection. Suitable for various farm types, it requires annual third-party audits in combination with IFA audits. Annual certification is required to confirm compliance at sites.

Nurture Module by GLOBALG.A.P. and Tesco

The Nurture Module is a private add-on to the Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA) standard for producers that supply to Tesco. It focuses on plant protection product List (PPPL) management for the fruit and vegetables/ flowers and ornamentals product categories. This module is audited in combination with the GLOBALG.A.P. IFA standards.
