SSCI, standing for Supplement Safety and Compliance Initiative, is a non-profit organisation that brings major retailers, suppliers, stakeholder, third-party bodies and experts to improve product safety and meet the demands of a globalised market. Eurofins is an approved Certification Body for SSCI certification.

Background of SSCI certification

SSCI standard was developed by benchmarking and harmonising various international and industry standards, including 21 CFR Part 111. It focuses on improving traceability and identification of dietary supplements to ensure safety, integrity and cGMP compliance for dietary supplements being sold in the U.S.

Currently, SSCI certificates are accepted by renown retailers to show compliance for any dietary supplements being sold at their online and store channels.

Process of SSCI certification

The on-site audit takes 3 days to complete. Upon completion, customers will receive their audit reports and SSCI certificate in 40 working days. The certificate is valid for one year.
