Bio-stimulant regulation update from EAS Japan
In September, colleagues from EAS Japan attended a webinar hosted by the JBSA (Japanese Bio-stimulant Association)
JBSA organized the webinar to introduce new bio-stimulant technologies, as well as their own activities, to the public. In summary, content included:
- Presentations on new studies of bio-stimulants by researchers from both academia and industry.
Presentations on the activities of the JBSA and the current bio-stimulant regulations in Japan.
During the session, it was apparent that both academic and industrial researchers in Japan are actively studying various bio-stimulant technologies, with promising advancements expected in the near future.
Unlike Europe and the U.S., Japan currently lacks an official definition of bio-stimulants so, as a result, related regulations in Japan are still under discussion by the authorities. J-MAFF is expected to announce some guidelines soon.
EAS is poised to support clients in Japan
Offering support for Technology Evaluation, EAS can assist with evaluating developing bio-stimulant technologies in both lab and field settings, with advanced early-stage development capabilities.
In terms of support regarding bio-stimulant regulations in Japan, EAS can assist from two perspectives:
- Studies: Leveraging its experience and expertise in agrochemicals, EAS can generate the necessary data for bio-stimulant registration in Japan, Europe, and other countries.
- Regulations: With extensive knowledge of bio-stimulants regulations in Europe, EAS can support companies interested in expanding their bio-stimulant portfolios into Europe.
