A review of the 2024 EAS Potato Open Day
We recently hosted our annual Potato Open Day in Derbyshire, UK and are pleased to share it was our biggest event to date.
Our Potato Open Day returned this year bigger and better than ever, with 19 industry partners showcasing their trials at the event and around 175 attendees.
The weather was favourable and the feedback positive. Over 650 BASIS CPD points were collected by visitors and they consumed over 500 sausages, 150 burgers and 300 hot drinks!
With planting beginning in late May, cultivating the platform is a long process. From planting to irrigation, applications to assessments and harvest, the platform needs a lot of attention, and the work doesn’t stop there. Many of these trials will be destined for post-harvest tuber size grading assessments and placed into storage to assess for incidence of tuber blight.
Take a look at the images below showing the progression.
Whilst the Derbyshire Potato Platform is one of our bigger sites and the highest profile event, we have a range of services and capabilities. Download our Potato Factsheet here for more information.
